Paragon Parks Tour 2016 #17 – Olive Shores

Located just north of Consumers in West Olive, Olive Shores has stairs, if that’s your workout MO. The cost to use the park for the day is $7 per vehicle. They offer a beautiful beach and very nice restrooms. This is also where filming took place for Tom Hank’s movie “The Road To Perdition’. We did the stairs and short trail system a couple of times to burn a few calories…

Paragon Parks Tour 2016 – A Challenge!

Are you up for a challenge? Beth and I are challenging the people of Ottawa County to get out and take advantage of what our park systems have to offer. There are 38 Ottawa County parks and we want to challenge you to visit 10 before the end of 2016. The first individual to visit and document (selfie with the park sign) will win a $50 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods!! In order to verify the documentation, you must post and tag Paragon Recruiting or e-mail the pic to jen@paragonusa.com. The map makes it easy to see where the parks are located. Ready. Set. Paragon Parks Tour #16 – Hiawatha Forest

Hiawatha Forest on the North side of Holland. This is a small park located on Fillmore Street just East of 168th. There’s a 1.4 mile loop in this open space and dogs are allowed off leash. We brought Izzo (our office dog). It was hot, but we ran around for a bit. Normally we like to share our before pic, but today you get the after. Don’t mind the “glisten”

Paragon Parks Tour #15 – Tunnel Park

Located in Holland, this park offers volleyball courts, picnic shelters, grilling areas, playgrounds and a great beach. We trekked around the short loop a few times to get some stairs in. We also climbed the dune and then ran the beach 1.65 miles to the State Park. Beautiful sunny 68 degree day for a run!
